Greetings everyone, it's great to be back in my homeland. It has been an exciting journey, in which I have seen the hand of God in so many ways, I am truly thankful. Like Mary in her song of praise in Luke 1: 46-55: "My soul glorifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour; for the Mighty one has done great things for me - holy is His name." vs 46, 47, 49. Like Mary our journeys and situations in life may be filled with uncertainty, possibly scorn or shame, and bewilderment. She was at first, greatly troubled by the words of the angel, at the announcement of the coming Messiah and questioned: "How can this be? vs. 26 - 34. However this quickly gave way to her outburst of praise as she surrendered to God's will: "Let it be to me according to your word." vs. 38. Wherever God takes us and whatever we go through, we can truly bless His name because He has a plan and purpose so much larger than our eyes can see. Let us not just go along for the ride, but truly surrender to God in the process. Our humility will bring us great favor. "For He has been mindful of the humble state of His servant, From now on all generations will call me blessed." vs. 48. In this season of Advent, let our 'spirits rejoice in God our Saviour' even in the twists and turns with seemingly impossible and hard to fathom circumstances!! A we say Rejoice!!!
